Logos Make the World Go Round

The importance of a great logo

When it comes to branding, your logo is your visual identity. It is how your audience recognizes and connects with you and your business. From colors, fonts, symbols and/or artwork, your logo conveys your brand message.

Why are logos important?

Logos are that first visual impression your brand makes with your audience. A great logo is one that is memorable and distinguishes your brand from all the others. Use it consistently so it not only becomes recognizable across various channels but also establishes a unified and cohesive experience for existing and potential clients. Don’t confuse your audience with totally different logos on different platforms. This only sends mixed messages and ultimately dilutes your brand.

So what makes a great logo?
Keep it simple. A great logo needs to be scalable which means easy to read and appropriately sized across different marketing channels from digital to print and from small to large scale. Does your logo read as clearly in black and white, and in grayscale as it does color?

Your logo should resonate with your audience. What are you communicating about your brand to your audience? Think carefully about your selection of colors, fonts, symbols and/or artwork? It is ok to have two layouts for your logo: one primary and one secondary.

Lastly, your logo should be distinct from your competition. Spend time researching what sets you apart and how to appropriately reflect your brand’s purpose.
